Gravy Studio is proud to present Saleem Ahmed’s first gallery exhibit of his series Rani Road. Ahmed’s self published book Rani Road is a short story narrative centered around the women in his family who were raised in Udaipur, India. The photography series examines gender roles, domestic ideology, and beauty. For this exhibit, Ahmed reimagines the book series by incorporating new work from recent trips to India displayed in vintage frames along with old family photos and objects from his childhood. Ahmed says he is “always searching for moments of peace within the chaos,” which produce photos with a wistful sense of time and place.
